Seasonal Color Palettes

You’re probably asking, “What the heck is a seasonal color analysis, and why should I care?” I used to wear and buy anything that caught my eye until I became concerned with my style. I eventually had a rainbow closet, but I was limited to particular hues.

Though not on me, I enjoy bright yellow and pink. I want red, but only in confident tones. It is a matter of taste, and my home is a vibrant rainbow of color. It suits my skin tone and hair type and looks well on me.

Three factors are considered while analyzing colours and undertones in seasonal color analysis:

  • Your Eyes
  • Your Hair
  • Your Skintone

A “season” is then assigned to you based on how light or dark each element is: Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter. Your season’s hues will best accentuate your characteristics; you’ve already gravitated towards some of them!

Seasons are chosen because we identify specific colors with each season, such as pastel pink blossoms in the spring, rich scarlet foliage in the autumn, kelly green grass in the summer, and white snow in the winter. The subtypes of each season, such as cold, soft, or deep, indicate how vibrant or subdued the colors are for that particular season and what you should dress. You can get away with wearing any color in your season, but if you want to look your best, consider sticking to your subtype.

Of course, you may also always try things out of season! For instance, although neither black nor grey is prevalent in my season, I find that wearing warmer greys and blacks without blue overtones makes me seem reasonable. Determining your season is a place to start when deciding on a potential color scheme for your clothing.

Find out if the undertone of your skin, hair, and eyes is neutral, warm, or cold if you learn nothing else from this. Next, pick hues for your apparel that complement each other’s undertones.

COOL WINTER

If you identify as a Cool Winter, you probably possess the following traits:

  • Hair: Black with blue undertones, Ashy blonde, or Ashy light or dark brown
  • Olive or cool blue undertones in the skin
  • Eyes: Grey, blue, or light brown

Cool seasons (Summer or Winter) depend on the undertone of skin, hair, and eye color, not contrast. Cool-weather causes bluish hair, skin, and eyes. On excellent season types, pastel or light colors are unflattering. Instead, choose a medium tone to contrast and accentuate your undertones. Try darker shades than your palette, but avoid warm tones.

CLEAR WINTER

Clear Winters usually have several traits:

  • Hair: Medium to dark brown or black
  • Skin: Olive or Cool Blue Undertones
  • Eyes: Bright green or blue

Clear seasons (Spring or Winter) reveal more skin tone, hair, and eye color contrast. Example: pale skin, dark brown hair, sparkling blue eyes. If their hair is bright and not golden or ashy, blondes can be “Clear” season types. Transparent season colors are the clearest and least subdued. This means the colors are true red or blue, like your childhood crayon box with few hues and the brightest ones.

Clear Springs usually have several traits:

  • Hair: Golden light to dark brown
  • Skin: Skin has a pink undertone and ranges from more ivory than milky white to golden brown
  • Eyes: Green, Blue, Light Brown

In clear seasons (Spring or Winter), skin tone, hair, and eye colors contrast more. Example: pale skin, dark brown hair, sparkling blue eyes. The colors are true red or blue, like your childhood crayon box with few hues and just the brightest ones.
