Zodiac Signs Colors
Colours impact us in different ways. This guide covers zodiac colour meanings and astrological strength. Your astrology sign’s colours and how to pull energy from them will be shown.
Everyone is born under a zodiac sign. This lets us match these astrological signs to the visible spectrum’s colours.
Zodiac means animal band between heaven and earth. This circular belt has 12 30-degree parts, each identified with a constellation.
Twelve zodiac signs represent the 12 segments and are related with animals and elements (fire, water, earth, and air).
Each element is related with distinct colours in ancient Chinese philosophy, hence the zodiac signs are likewise associated with colours.
While your favourite colour may vary, your zodiac sign has a set of colours. Find out your ideal colour or colour combination.
What Do the Different Zodiac Colors Mean?
Zodiac colours are significant. They have the energy to change your and others’ moods. Your daily colours can dramatically transform the tone of your surroundings or your outlook for the better.
Below are the colours of all zodiac signs, starting with Aries.

- Element: Fire
- Energy: Masculine
- Quality: Cardinal
- Planet: Mars
- Colors: Red, orange, yellow, white
The first sign of the zodiac, Aries, is a fiery fire sign with good energy and ambition. The ram symbolises Aries, which is linked to Mars.
According to Greek mythology, the Golden Fleece inspired the ram symbol. Chrysomallus, a flying ram, saved two royal children from sacrifice. After the children’s daring escape, the ram returned to Poseidon and became Aries. The sun god Helios kept the ram’s fleece.
Aries have birthdays between March 21 and April 19. Aries celebrities include Reese Witherspoon, Jackie Chan, and Lil Nas X. Red should be your decorating and dressing colour to harness your star sign’s vitality.
Red: Aries Power Colour
Since Aries is a fire sign and related with Mars, its predominant colour is red. This sign’s strong, energetic people are symbolised by most red objects’ flaming hue.
Red has long symbolised love and violence. Passion unites these connotations. Red may seem angry or violent, yet it may also represent passion and zeal for life.
Red affects the body physiologically. Red raises heart rate, blood pressure, and “excitement” levels. It stimulates the adrenal gland, making people more active.
Red is lively, exciting, and full of life, just like Aries.
Other Colours
The most common colour associated with Aries is red, but there are others. Orange, yellow, and white are typical Aries colours, keeping with the fire concept.
Usually, fire signs are associated with warm, vivid colours. The orange for Aries should be vivid, almost neon, to capture its vitality and excitement. Orange represents development, energy, and lifelong love.
Orange, like red, affects the body physiologically. Orange can enhance appetite, thus many restaurants advertise with it.
Aries people are enthusiastic and emotional in whatever they do, therefore it’s simply another example!

- Element: Earth
- Energy: Feminine
- Quality: Fixed
- Planet: Venus
- Colors: Pink, pastel blue and purple
Next comes Taurus, an earth element with a negative or feminine polarity named after one of the oldest constellations. Thus, Taurus is the “oldest” zodiac sign, and many ancient cultures revered the “Heavenly Bull,” the constellation through which the sun rose. Venus is also related with Taurus.
Taurus has no myth or legend ties because it predates many major astrological groups. Instead, many ancient societies adore and worship the sacred bull, which has endured.
Tauruses have birthdays between April 20th and May 20th. Other prominent Tauruses are Dwayne Johnson, Robert Pattinson, and Adele. Pink is your main colour for wearing and decorating as a Taurus.
Taurus Power Color: Pink
Taurus is typically associated with Venus or Aphrodite despite predating Greek mythology as a zodiac sign. Aphrodite was the goddess of love, hence her domain colour should be pink, one of the most romantic colours ever!
Pink symbolises feminine love, innocence, youthful delight, and first crushes. Audrey Hepburn reportedly said she “believed in pink” to encourage her audience to enjoy “frivolous” things in life.
Not all pink is frivolous. It can indicate passivity or naiveté. The same qualities that make it a potent emblem of youth and pure expressionism can also make people wary of it.
Embrace your pink preference and don’t bother what others say!
Other Colours
Taurus may typically pair with other “feminine” colours. Pink is the most common associated colour, but pastel blues and purples can enhance your Taurus colour palette and increase its harmony.
While these softer, warmer colours are generally linked with feminine energies, they are nonetheless appropriate for men! Softer colours can soften an outfit or setting, making it more pleasant and engaging.
Taurus symbolises beauty, stability, and steadiness. Thus, all of this sign’s colours symbolise peace, stability, and the potential to turn the world into a place you desire to live.

- Element: Air
- Energy: Masculine
- Quality: Mutable
- Planet: Mercury
- Colors: Yellow, bright green and blue
The third zodiac sign is Gemini, “the twins”. Babylonians called the two stars that distinguish this sign’s constellation the Great Twins and utilised them for navigation for millennia. Babylonian astronomers called the stars Lugal-irra and Meslamta-ea, two names for Nergal, the plague, pestilence, and underworld god.
Ancient Greeks saw Castor and Pollux as half brothers from the same mortal mother. After his mortal brother Castor died, Pollux implored Zeus to let him share immortality with him. Thus, both brothers lived forever in the stars.
Gemini, an air sign connected with Mercury, applies to birthdays from May 21 to June 20. Geminis Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, and Tom Holland are famous. Geminis should choose vivid yellows.
Gemini Power Colour: Yellow
Given Gemini’s mythological roots, it makes natural that an air sign is associated with yellow. Greek mythology’s Mercury was smart, swift, and capricious, carrying the gods’ messages around the world.
Yellow looks appropriate for that energetic spirit. Yellow represents joyful, exciting exploration and transformation. Later sunshine and beautifully coloured blossoms in a field come to mind.
Yellow can also be bad. It can appear sickly and too bright and aggressive. Again, this suits the normal Gemini’s ever-changing mindset.
Yellow may fit any mood and accompany sudden lifestyle changes, regardless of your major affinity with it.
Other Colours
When changing Gemini power colours, yellow is the most preferred, but there are other, less common possibilities. Try to maintain your sign’s brightness and warmth, regardless of your favourite colour.
The second most popular Gemini colour is green. Avoid deep or dark greens and attempt to capture some of Gemini’s warmth, brightness, and sunshine-y cheer with your greens. Geminis are drawn to green because it symbolises transformation, growth, development, and new possibility.
Some Geminis choose vivid blue as their power colour. Again, this colour represents the sign’s optimism and open-air energy and also its ability to transform to something darker and more stormy.

- Element: Water
- Energy: Feminine
- Quality: Cardinal
- Planet: The Moon
- Colors: Silver, white, pale blue, gray, cream
Cancer, the fourth and first water sign, follows! Cancer is moon-related. It’s a water sign, thus it’s sometimes linked to Neptune, the Greek deity of the seas.
The Cancer constellation is now a cluster of stars. Not always did it look like an upside-down crab. Egyptians saw the constellation as a scarab beetle, while Mesopotamians saw it as a turtle. The crab became the official symbol of Cancer during mediaeval times and guarded Verona.
June 21–July 22 are Cancer birthdays. Princess Diana, Ariana Grande, Elon Musk, and Tom Cruise are Cancers. Cancer is usually associated with silver, but pale blue and white are sometimes used.
Cancer Power Color: Silver
Cancer is the moon sign. Thus, its primary color’s cold silver tones make sense. This soothing colour evokes starry nights and undersea life.
Silver symbolises prosperity and achievement, yet it may also be deadly. Silver was considered dishonest, enigmatic, or insincere in various ancient societies. As cancers can be evasive or deceiving, avoid wearing too much silver!
Finally, silver has traditionally been associated with moon deities. Silver symbolises the search for meaning, a higher purpose, and the desire to transform oneself.
Silver watches, jewellery, and other accessories can strengthen your power colour without overwhelming your clothing if you like it.
Other Colours
White, pale blue, grey, and cream are other cold or receptive Cancer colours. Again, consider the “moon” theme when choosing wardrobe and interior design colours.
White can indicate clinical detachment or “empty” energy, but it usually symbolises purity and innocence. It represents hope, optimism, and a desire for a brighter future.
We’ve already discussed blue, but grey is another peaceful colour that might reflect maturity and intellectualism. Unfortunately, it can also represent hesitation and a desire to blend in. However, it’s a calm, even aloof colour that can make any environment look more polished and professional.

- Element: Fire
- Energy: Masculine
- Quality: Fixed
- Planet: The Sun
- Colors: Gold, yellow, orange, purple, red
Leo, the fifth astrological sign, is unaffiliated with any planet. The sun is its closest association, which makes sense since it’s one of the zodiac’s most prominent fire signs.
Greek mythology says the Nemean lion, a fearsome animal with indestructible fur, died in Leo. The lion would capture local women to lure their rescuers back to its lair, where they would be eaten. Zeus placed the lion among the stars after Hercules killed it with his bare hands.
If you were born July 23–August 22, you’re a Leo. Barack Obama, Tom Brady, Demi Lovato, and Jennifer Lopez are Leos. To honour the lion’s tawny fur, Leo’s predominant colour is gold.
Leo Power Color: Gold
Gold immediately connotes riches. Gold, one of nature’s most valuable commodities, has traditionally symbolised power, prestige, strength, and influence. Gold symbolised deity in numerous cultures, including mediaeval Christianity.
Gold immediately connotes riches. Gold, one of nature’s most valuable commodities, has traditionally symbolised power, prestige, strength, and influence. Gold symbolised deity in numerous cultures, including mediaeval Christianity.
Gold may seem dazzling, snobbish, or arrogant. However, the warmth and clarity of pure gold usually transcend that picture, creating a magnificent, vivid colour that symbolises compassion, giving, and unbounded hope.
Leo’s relationship with gold possibly stems from its solar association. Some think it came from Leo’s relationship with the Nemean lion. The animal’s fur sparkled like gold no matter what weapons were used on it, and its special qualities survived its death.
Other Colours
Other Leo colours may be less obvious. Burnt orange conveys the same reckless fire, strength, boldness, and life fervour, while purple may be surprising.
Because purple symbolises nobility, Leos are associated with rich royal purple. In many ancient cultures, deep purple was reserved for the wealthy and powerful, like gold.
Purple cloth is difficult to make, hence its uniqueness. These snails or mollusks from a certain ancient region were the only source of this deep, almost black colour. Since the dye was hard to make, it was more precious.
Purple cloth may be easier to find today, but the associations still distinguish Leo as a bold and dignified sign.

Virgo, the sixth zodiac sign, is earthy and associated to Mercury. The Maiden or Virgin, usually a young woman, symbolises wheat and agriculture. Many ancient cultures believe Virgo depicts a maiden, not simply Greek mythology.
Astraea, the Greek goddess of cleanliness, justice, and innocence, is usually connected with Virgo. The myth says Astraea was the final immortal to leave earth after the other gods had stopped travelling among people. Her ultimate departure took her to the stars. Christians also associate with the Virgin Mary.
Virgos are born August 23–September 22. Celebrity Virgos include Beyonce, Kobe Bryant, Freddie Mercury, and Zendaya.
Virgo Power Color: Green
Green has always symbolised growth. The earth element Virgo is associated with agriculture and new life, hence green is its power colour. The colour green symbolises generosity, prosperity, luck, and fresh life, not its shade.
Even though green is connected with envious or judgmental behaviour (you’ve probably heard the expression “green with envy”), its fast-moving, ever-changing vitality makes it so popular.
Green is often associated with Mother Earth. Before the mythology was firmly established, Demeter, goddess of the earth and agriculture, was often associated to Virgo.
Green evokes calm and security. It calms the mind like blue and might help you forget your problems after a long day.
Other Colours
Like many of the other colours on this list, most of Virgo’s other colours are about staying in the same colour family. Earth tones like browns, muted yellows, and other deeper hues are additional prominent power colours.
Virgos like green, but most earth tones’ deep browns, yellows, oranges, and reds convey pragmatism and liveliness.
Virgo’s distinctive vitality and groundedness set it different from busier or more aggressive signs, so choose an almost autumnal colour palette.

Libra, the air sign, is the seventh zodiac sign. Libra was considered the perfect sign or “balanced sign” by the ancient Romans due to its steady day and night cycle and the moon’s position when Rome was founded.
Libra is commonly depicted as scales. Greek mythology’s Themis, the bodily personification of divine law, owned the scales, which inspired our courthouse representations of Lady Justice. Our idea of Libra reflects the balance theme of Themis and her scales.
Libras should look for blue in everything if their birthdays are between September 23rd and October 22nd. Kim Kardashian, Will Smith, Snoop Dogg, and Bella Thorne are other notable Libras.
Libra Power Color: Blue
We briefly covered the physiological effects of cooler colours like green, but blue is the most relaxing. Blue lowers heart rate, blood pressure, and instills a positive sense of tranquilly that might help us cope with our busy lives.
To symbolise tranquilly, reliability, and peaceful optimism, blue is often used. Many consider blue a “honest” colour because it expresses trustworthiness and dependability.
Some find blue too conservative, predictable, or melancholy. If you’re in a hectic scenario and want to restore some of the tranquilly we all need, blue may be the way to go.
Libra prefers paler blue, although any shade is powerful.
Other Colours
Libra’s other colours are lighter since its power colour is. Look for cool pastels.
Lavender, peach orange, pastel pink, and pistachio green are Libra strength colours. The aggression of “normal” colours distinguishes these colours from their more colourful relatives.
Libra seeks harmony and balance under Venus. Many Libra power colours are more muted, tranquil, and less “in your face” than their traditional counterparts.
Use these peaceful colours as a guide, but don’t be afraid to experiment with warmer hues. The key is to keep focusing on the balance, harmony, and tranquilly most pastel tones and any blue may bring.

Scorpio is the eighth zodiac sign and the second of our three water signs. It is negative and fixed. Scorpio is associated with the scorpion, but has also been related to the phoenix and serpent.
Since ancient times, philosophers and astronomers have marked Scorpius. In Greek mythology, Artemis and her mother dispatched the scorpion to kill Orion, the arrogant hunter. The Babylonians called the constellation “the creature with a burning sting.” After Orion was killed, Zeus lifted the scorpion and the hunter into the stars, where they hunt each other forever. Artemis’s decision is explained by numerous tales.
Scorpio birthdays range from October 23rd to November 21st. Celebrities like Bob Ross, Katy Perry, Bill Gates, and Hilary Clinton are Scorpios.
Scorpio Power Color: Black
At first glance, black may seem more negative than positive. Most Western cultures equate black with sorrow, sadness, loss, despair, and grief. Beyond that, black is generally seen as a powerful, aggressive colour, which can turn some people off.
However, black has always been linked with strength, authority, power, and influence. The ancient Egyptians and other cultures considered black the colour of life because it evoked lush, fertile agricultural soil. Black has only recently gained a terrible reputation.
Black is still a refined, beautiful colour that adds mystery and luxury to any event. Any brief criticism should be outweighed by the ageless class and seamless prominence.
Other Colours
Most Scorpion colours are darkly dramatic and effortlessly captivating, reflecting their power colour themes of money, luxury, and desire. To capture Scorpio’s lavish sophistication, choose blood reds, crimsons, and maroons.
Black, but not very dark, is still a popular colour for fashion and home design if you prefer colder colours. Look for rich purples or navy blues. These colours’ intensity has some of the same impact as black and red without being as violent.
Scorpio colours should be powerful and dramatic, regardless of hue. Scorpios can succeed as long as they wear eye-catching colours.

- Element: Fire
- Energy: Masculine
- Quality: Mutable
- Planet: Jupiter
- Colors: Purple, dark blue, plum
The centaur symbolises Sagittarius, the ninth astrological sign and fire sign connected with Jupiter. A “mutable sign” signifies change.
The Sagittarius centaur is commonly connected with Chiron from Greek mythology. Chiron, a wise and patient tutor, trained Achilles and other heroes.
Some see Sagittarius as a centaur, an archer and prophet who always struck his mark. The sign of Sagittarius was once associated with prophets and fortune tellers, and today, persons born under this sign are clever and intelligent.
A Sagittarius birthday falls between November 22nd and December 21st. Their primary colour is purple, and Taylor Swift, Brad Pitt, Jay-Z, and Britney Spears complete their numbers.
Sagittarius Power Color: Purple
Purple has been mentioned before, but Sagittarius brings out its full meaning. Purple symbolises majesty, knowledge, and mystery.
As mentioned above, Sagittarius was long believed to be the sign under which prophets, mystics, and seers were born. Since many Greek centaurs could prophesy, purple is connected with spirituality, knowledge, fantasy, and foresight.
Purple is a beautiful colour that inspires and energises daily life, whether you favour deep royal purple or softer lavender. Purple is a magnificent colour with a long history of elegance, mystery, and spirituality, yet it may also be associated with high-strung emotions, sensitivity, or immaturity.
Other Colours
Sagittarius is less variable than other signs we’ve examined. The same colour scheme applies to all Sagittarius power colours. Instead of royal purple, try dark blue or plum.
Like Scorpio’s power colours, Sagittarius’s colour family is visual. The power colours of Sagittarius are dark blues, reds, and purples to evoke its legacy of mysticism and sorcery.
The black tones and deep cultural significance of Sagittarius’s colours frequently go hand in hand with the revered position persons born under this sign naturally gravitate towards, regardless of their original status. Its colours depict Sagittarius’ constant pursuit of new positions.

- Element: Earth
- Energy: Feminine
- Quality: Cardinal
- Planet: Saturn
- Colors: Brown, black, white, gray
Saturn rules Capricorn, the tenth zodiac sign and third earth sign. This negative cardinal sign appears in spring in the Western hemisphere.
The goat represents Capricorn. Specifically, a goat with a fish tail and lower body. Capricorn is one of the oldest zodiac signs, therefore this emblem predates Greek and Babylonian mythology. Sumerian god of wisdom and intelligence Enki was usually depicted as a half-goat, half-fish. Despite being associated with the soil, Enki was the deity of water, lake, and ocean.
Capricorns are born December 22–January 19. In addition to brown, the sign is connected with various earth-toned colours. LeBron James, Timothee Chalamet, MLK Jr., and Meghan Trainor are Capricorns.
Capricorn Power Color: Brown
If brown seems “boring” to you, experiment! The colour brown has historically symbolised strength, wisdom, and the ability to endure.
Brown is associated with maturity and intelligence. Most ancient societies revered it like black because its rich tones symbolise development and new life. Capricorn is an earth element, and brown is one of the strongest earth colours.
Brown can also represent moral strength. Brown is associated with devotion, family, and a strong moral code that distinguishes Capricorns from a world that seems to be lost.
Other Colours
Capricorn is associated with bones, teeth, and skin. Capricorn’s other strong colours are associated with frigid, keen determination and tenacity.
Grey is a cool colour for solidity and professionalism. We also examined how black symbolises elegance, intrigue, and refinement. Beyond black and grey, Capricorns may prefer darker browns than you might think of when you think of brown.
Choose bright, clear colours in a variety of earth tones, but don’t be afraid to go darker. Capricorn is an earth sign, so colour choices are flexible. However, Capricorn prefers neutral colours like black, white, brown, and grey to present a restrained, trustworthy, and sometimes cryptic image.

- Element: Air
- Energy: Masculine
- Quality: Fixed
- Planet: Uranus
- Colors: Blue, turquoise, aquamarine, white, bright gold
Aquarius is another air sign ruled by Saturn and Uranus, but Uranus is more popular nowadays. The water-bearer, usually a young man, carries or pours water from his container.
Aquarius commemorates Ganymede, the gods’ cup-bearer, in Greek mythology. According to legend, Ganymede, the prince of Troy, was so beautiful that Zeus fell in love with him at first sight. He took the youngster to the gods’ home and gave him immortality in exchange for eternal servitude at their feasts and revelries.
Today, meteor showers are best seen in Aquarius. Aquarius birthdays are January 20–February 18 and their primary colour is blue. Aquariuses Harry Styles, Michael Jordan, Ellen Degeneres, and Shakira are famous.
Aquarius Power Color: Blue
Aquarius’s power colour is vivid blue, as the name implies. This blue’s intensity and vigour distinguish it from other zodiac sign blues.
Aquarius like bright, sunny blues that evoke the sea or sky, unlike other zodiac signs. Aquarius is related with the bioelectric centres of the body, which may explain why persons born under that sign prefer energetic blues.
Find blues with a hint of green or that are brighter than usual. These colours represent life, transformation, and future growth beyond the traditional connotations of blue.
Other Colours
Aquarius is an air sign, so avoid ocean-themed colours. Thus, deeper greens and blacks and purples may seem overdramatic or sad.
You may like different “airy” colours. Find delicate yellows or dazzling golds that match the sky’s celestial movements. To mirror the dazzling brightness of the open air and the blinding warmth of the sun, Aquariuses often choose white. Look for colours that are warm, energetic, and can change instantly.
The “true” Aquarius colour scheme—turquoise blue and aquamarine—is peaceful and interesting, so it’s best to adhere to it.

- Energy: Feminine
- Quality: Mutable
- Planet: Neptune
- Colors: Green, indigo, blue-gray, green-gray
A negative water sign, Pisces is the twelfth and final astrological sign. Jupiter once governed it, but now Neptune does. Pisces = “fishes” in Latin, hence its symbol is a pair of fish, generally koi.
In Greek mythology, Pisces is the fish that helped Aphrodite and her son escape “the father of all monsters” by changing her shape and hiding among them. Aphrodite hid herself and her son in a river-falling egg in other mythology. Aphrodite appeared and placed the fish constellation in the night sky as a thank you after the fishes rolled the egg to land.
Pisces birthdays are Feb. 19–March 20. Green is Pisces’ traditional colour. Justin Bieber, Adam Levine, Simone Biles, and Camila Cabello are notorious Pisces.
Pisces Power Color: Green
Pisces, unlike the preceding entry, is strongly associated with the ocean, thus its colours should reflect that. Overall, seafoam green suits Pisces best. The name implies that this bright, almost pastel tone symbolises the open sea’s endless activity and changeable waves.
Seafoam green seems almost blue, but its strong green undertones give it energy and excitement. Pisces enjoys green tones because they represent life, development, change, and luck.
The calmer seafoam green notes complement the typical Pisces’ stabilising and harmonising properties. Your love of these greens may grow as you strive to unify others.
Other Colours
Because Pisces loves the sea, most of its favourite colours fall within that category. Pisces seeks empathy, peace, and sea strength, whereas Scorpio seeks drama and Sagittarius mysticism.
Look for ocean-inspired blues and greens. Your power colour wheel includes indigo, most blues, and most dark blue-greens. Lean into any colour that makes you feel more comfortable.
If you prefer neutrals, choose blue- or green-grays that resemble the sea after a storm. Pisces is one of the strongest water signs, so embrace your unique traits.
